A Career in Hospitality at the Novotel Hotel
The Inner Melbourne VET Cluster (IMVC), in collaboration with the Novotel Glen Waverley and special schools located in the Gateway Local Learning and Employment Network (LLEN), have established a workplace learning program in the hospitality industry to raise the aspirations of young people with disability. Participating students from Ashwood School had an opportunity to engage with experienced staff and build skills sets specifically in housekeeping. Read More…..
VCAL student at St Aloysius Certificate II in Hospitality
The Workplace Learning Coordinator Program is a joint initiative of the Australian and State and Territory Governments. The Program identifies, facilitates and coordinates industry specific learning opportunities for young people and connects industry and schools to provide the opportunity for students to experience quality workplace learning. Structured Workplace Learning provides the young person with opportunities to practice the industry specific skills that they have learnt and developed as part of their vocational training. Typically a business would host the young person in the workplace for a week or one day per week over a period of time.
