The Inner Melbourne VET Cluster (IMVC) won the Australian 2010 VET in Schools Excellence Training Award in Sydney on Friday 19 November, attended by over 1000 people including Senator Chris Evans (Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Jobs and Workplace Relations). This builds on the IMVC’s success in winning the 2010 Victorian VET in Schools Excellence Award.

The IMVC was recognised for:
- Continued strategic planning, sustainability and strong governance model;
- Unique host school model that gives access to a wide range of vocational pathways for young people across government, catholic and independent sectors;
- Innovative social enterprise and community education programs;
- Commitment to enhance the skills development and employability of young people through training and workplace learning opportunities;
- Well-developed collegial working relationships among relevant stakeholders.
The IMVC would like to take this opportunity to thank our 51 member schools, schools in the Mullum Cluster, employers, Local Learning and Employment Networks, Registered Training Organisations, government departments, local government, community / youth agencies and other educational providers who have worked tirelessly alongside us to advance vocational pathways for young people.
