Social Enterprise
IMVC social enterprise programs will focus on developing skills and qualifications for ‘life and learning’ including those necessary to enjoy active and productive working lives. This is paramount to ensuring young people and adults maximize their potential. IMVC recognizes that there are many barriers to young people participating in education, training and employment such as their financial status, low skills, and ability to find or retain employment. The IMVC proposes to develop two social enterprise programs specifically aimed at developing skills, assets, opportunities and capabilities for young people to:
- Learn – participate in education and training
- Work – participate in employment, unpaid or voluntary work
- Engage – connect with people and community
The two programs proposed for 129 Beaconsfield Parade, Albert Park and Lynall Hall Community School, promote education and training as an investment in an individual’s capacity to fulfill their potential for economic and social participation and provide best value for the local community.
Timeline for completion for both programs - March 2011.
