IMVC is the winner of the 2010 Victorian VET in Schools Excellence Award

The Victorian VET in Schools Excellence Award recognises an outstanding training program which delivers vocational education and training to secondary school students. The program may be coordinated by secondary schools, industry groups or by way of partnerships between schools, industry and Group Training Organisations, Local Community Partnerships or any other variation.

The winner is awarded $10,000 and is recognised as the best in Victoria's world-class training system. The winner may represent Victoria at the 2010 Australian Training Awards.

The Inner Melbourne VET Cluster (IMVC) was presented this award at the Victorian Training Awards 2010 on Tuesday 14 September at Crown, Southbank.

The IMVC is a unique partnership of State, Catholic and Independent schools in inner Melbourne. Established to expand vocational pathway opportunities for students in post-compulsory years, the Cluster's unique Host School Model gives schools with limited senior secondary curriculum offerings, an opportunity to provide an extensive vocational program.

The IMVC team would like to thank our 51 members schools, the Mullum Cluster, employers, RTOs, government departments, local government, community/youth agencies and other education providers who have worked alongside us to advance vocational pathway opportunities for young people in our region. This award is a great acknowledgement and recognition of the dedication, passion and commitment of all stakeholders, especially our VET team – Andrew, Natalie and Julie.
