These definitions, implications and communication methods are a guide only and often you may be dealing with a student who does not wish to disclose or who does not have a formal diagnosis. In these situations it is often best to present the student with referrals and advice that they may follow up in their own time such as links to mental health organisations or even providing them with support information within further education institutes.
